What to do with unused egg whites

Only using egg yolks in some recipes will let you wonder what exactly you could do with the unused egg whites. Well, do not throw away because I will show you a quick and simple recipe, much healthier than if you made meringues with your unused egg whites. So, here goes:

  • egg whites (of course!)
  • grated cheese (cheddar, parmesan, whatever you have in the fridge)
  • salt and pepper
  • knob of butter

Put the butter inside a frying pan. While heating up, add salt and pepper to your egg whites then pour in the frying pan.

When cooked, add the cheese.

Slide the omelette, gently onto a plate (it helps having a non-stick pan!):When about half of the omelette is on the plate, move the frying pan gently towards you so as to fold the omelette in half.

And here you are, you have a very nice looking “white-coloured” but delicious omelette. Bon appétit!

Tip: if you don’t have enough unused egg whites, you can always add more whole eggs. 🙂
