I made some scones last week-end. They are so healthy for you!….. well… that’s before you start adding the jam and the clotted cream of course but then, you don’t feel so guilty knowing that there was not much in them to start with…. if that makes sense….
Being French, I only knew how to make scones from a book but never quite got the hang of it. But last summer, my sister-in-law gave me a demonstration on how to make great scones. Her mum used to own a tea room in the Hebrides, so she had a lot of practice. The trick is to handle the mixture as little and as quickly as possible otherwise they get a bit tough. Well, if you are interested, let me know and I will post the recipe for you with some nice pictures. Anyway, I do have pictures of them before we ate them. Yum!
You know, you could add one or two scones to your packed lunch too. See it as a little treat to help you start the week (I am assuming that you have more time to bake on a Sunday than during the week).
By the way, I have just updated my post on how to cut and prepare fruit efficiently, adding some more fruit to my list. I think it is better than creating a new post and not so confusing for you readers but since I am new at blogging, I am not quite sure yet …
